The Atelier
Everything happens in one room: pattern drafting, cutting, gluing, seaming, and finishing. Nothing is sent out — which is why I can teach exactly what I practice.
The process
Every piece starts flat. A pattern is drafted or adapted, laid onto sheet latex, and cut by hand. Panels are glued edge to edge, seams are rolled and finished, and the whole piece is checked before it's fitted.
It's slow work by design — a single garment can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on complexity.
In the studio
Sheet latex in a range of weights and finishes, contact adhesive, seam rollers, pattern card, and a growing archive of past commissions used as reference for new ones.
Materials
Weight
Lighter sheet for fluid, close-fitting pieces; heavier sheet where structure needs to hold its own shape.
Finish
Finish is chosen per design — gloss reflects light and reads dramatic, matte is quieter and more everyday.
Sourcing
Sheet is sourced from a small number of suppliers I've worked with for years, chosen for consistency batch to batch.
